At Advantage Women's Care, we encourage the use of screening tests to check for signs of disease or cancer. The earlier these conditions are found, the better the prognosis.
Common screening services we provide include:
- Breast cancer screening
- Cervical cancer screening
- STD screening
A colposcopy is an exam of the vagina, cervix, and vulva with a special magnifying glass to look for signs of disease. This diagnostic test is usually recommended if you have had a cervical cancer screening test show abnormal cell changes as it is one of the easiest ways to identify cells that can turn into cancer. If abnormal areas are found during the test, a biopsy may be taken.
If a colposcopy turns up abnormal results, a loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) may be recommended. LEEP is an important part of diagnosis in obstetrics and it uses an electric current to heat a wire loop to excise a small amount of tissue and cells on the cervix. The tissue can then be sent for testing. LEEP can also be used to treat polyps and genital warts.
At Advantage Women's Care, our board-certified urogynecologists offer comprehensive treatment focused on the diagnosis and treatment of pelvic floor disorders. This includes pelvic organ prolapse, bowel and/or bladder control issues, and sexual dysfunction. If non-invasive treatment options aren't helpful, our urogynecologists may recommend minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery for minimal recovery time.
HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY
If you are bothered by menopause-related symptoms like vaginal dryness or hot flashes, hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is the most effective treatment option. Hormone replacement can relieve most menopause symptoms and even prevent bone loss. It is currently the only treatment that can prevent osteoporosis in post-menopausal women. If you are interested in hormone therapy, schedule a consultation to learn more about the benefits and potential risks.
Juliet is the fast, painless, hormone-free laser treatment for gynecological health. The Juliet laser treatment can help solve those unpleasant symptoms such as genital itching, irritation, poor vaginal lubrication, vaginal dryness and even pain during intercourse (dyspareunia).
